The future West Oakland Station will be 30-feet long and have an ADA compliant loading zone and accessible ramps. \u200b \u200b Amenities will include seating, lighting, next-bus arrival screens, fare vending , emergency phones, and security cameras.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Crews will continue \u200b to install components for this \u200b and the Central Oakland Station located further up Forbes Avenue past Bouquet Street. Milling has been completed and concrete patching of the road is underway. Final paving will occur overnight starting at the end of June with red paint to be applied in early fall.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Once paving is completed, construction will switch to the south side of Fifth Avenue stretching from Kirkpatrick Street to Diamond Street to begin sidewalk and future road restoration activities. This phase of work is expected to begin in July and last through the first quarter of 2027.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">When sidewalk work begins on the south side of Fifth Avenue, motorists will begin to travel in the newly paved northern lane of the road. Two lanes of traffic will be open periodically within the construction corridor.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Parking has been prohibited on both sides of the road during construction to allow one lane of traffic to flow safely through the work zone.<strong> </strong>When the project is completed, parking will be permanently eliminated along Fifth Avenue on:</p><ul class=\"release-content-list release-content-list--bulleted release-content-list--align-inherit\"><li><span>both sides of the road from Pride Street to Diamond Street;</span></li><li><span>the north side of the road from Kirkpatrick Street to Pride Street;</span></li><li><span>intersections on the south side of the road from Kirkpatrick Street to Pride Street;</span></li><li><span>both sides of the road at Wyandotte Street.</span></li></ul><p style=\"text-align: left\">In Oakland, PRT contractors continue work to rebuild the roadway and sidewalks in preparation for the future bi-directional bike lane. This phase of work will also create a new extended curb line that will widen the existing sidewalk. Several sections of the sidewalk adjacent to the future bike lane will be replaced. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Throughout the construction corridor, access to local businesses will be maintained. Pedestrian access will continue to be provided through temporary walkways and ADA-accessible ramps.</p><p style=\"text-align: justify\">Work hours are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work consists of sidewalk demolition, utility relocation, installing new curbs, installing conduit to power station amenities, lighting and traffic signals, and concrete being poured for station slabs and final sidewalk restoration.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In addition to ongoing drainage improvements and electrical installations along Forbes Avenue, construction activities performed in the past week include:</p><ul class=\"release-content-list release-content-list--bulleted release-content-list--align-inherit\"><li><span>new concrete sidewalks installed at Marion Street to Van Braam Street;</span></li><li><span>new concrete sidewalks installed at Van Braam Street to Miltenberger Street;</span></li><li><span>new concrete sidewalks installed at Seneca Street to Brady Street;</span></li><li><span>framed and poured new concrete curb from Stevenson Street to Pride Street;</span></li><li><span>framed and poured new concrete curb at the corner of Gist Street;</span></li><li><span>framed and poured new concrete curb from Magee Street to Pride Street;</span></li><li><span> new sidewalk hatches at Forbes Avenue and Moultrie Street and Forbes Avenue and Miltenberger Street.</span></li></ul><p style=\"text-align: left\">Many sidewalks have already been completed and feature new curbs and wider sidewalks, as well as accessibility and safety improvements.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The next phase along the southern lane of Forbes Avenue will be road restoration in preparation for the future bus lane. Construction will start in July as crews begin milling, patching, and paving operations to rebuild the roadway from Boyd Street to Brady Street at \u200b Bridge.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">To accommodate active work zones and maintain a travel lane through the corridor, on-street parking will continue to be suspended on both sides of Forbes Avenue.</p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Throughout the construction corridor, access to intersections and local businesses will be maintained.
