According to Pennsylvania law, motorists using bus-only lanes may be issued a citation of $25 with associated fees that will bring the total cost to nearly $200. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Private vehicles and bicycles are strictly prohibited from entering, stopping, or parking in the red bus lanes, even for brief pickups, drop-offs, or deliveries. Pickups and drop-offs should be made on side streets or in designated loading zones. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">To make a right turn, drivers can enter the bus lanes where the solid white lines are dashed and there&rsquo;s also a white arrow in the roadway. Vehicles should never pull in front of a bus. Instead, vehicles should safely merge behind the bus. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">These dedicated bus lanes are reserved exclusively for buses and emergency vehicles and are clearly marked to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of public transit. The largest side, extending just past Moultrie up to the Birmingham Bridge, measures 225 feet long by four feet wide. The tank on the other side of Moultrie Street measures 36 feet long by five feet wide. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">After excavating, crews installed a rubber liner, connected pipe into the drainage system, and will backfill with gravel by Monday. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Green infrastructure has been installed at 18 locations as part of the University Line project. Thirteen locations have underground GI storage trenches, which will not be visible once construction is complete. Five locations will have bioswales, commonly known as rain gardens, with both underground infrastructure and visible above ground plantings. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Storage tanks/below ground stormwater retention ponds range from the size of a car to a 60-foot articulated (bends in the middle) bus, and from 8-12 feet deep (deeper than a swimming pool). They will be located in the following areas: </p><ul class=\"release-content-list release-content-list--bulleted release-content-list--align-inherit\"><li><span>On Fifth Avenue at Pride, Marion, Gist, Jumonville, and Moultrie streets as well as just past the Birmingham Bridge. </span></li><li><span>On Forbes Avenue at Stevenson, Pride (both sides of the road), Marion, Miltenberger, Jumonville, and Seneca streets. </span></li></ul><p style=\"text-align: left\">Bioswales/above ground stormwater retention ponds will be located at: </p><ul class=\"release-content-list release-content-list--bulleted release-content-list--align-inherit\"><li><span>Fifth Avenue at Pride Street </span></li><li><span>Fifth Avenue at Jumonville Street </span></li><li><span>Fifth Avenue at Moultrie Street </span></li><li><span>Fifth Avenue at the Birmingham Bridge </span></li><li><span>Forbes Avenue at Schenley Plaza </span></li></ul><p style=\"text-align: left\">Crews excavate these locations and create a frame for the bioswales. A sub-base of gravel and organic matter is placed in the trench before a final layer of vegetation is applied. These layers will slow the water infiltration and filter out pollutants. The closure will be around the clock and last up to six weeks. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Contractors have had two lanes of Fifth Avenue closed for the past several months. Starting Monday, construction crews will close another lane for three blocks between Bellefield Avenue and Lytton Avenue, leaving one lane open to general traffic. Buses will continue to travel in the red bus-only lane. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Access to side streets and crosswalks will be maintained. Concrete is being poured for new sidewalks and curbs in some locations while excavation is only beginning in others. \u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">In some cases, crews will need to upgrade stormwater and electrical infrastructure before anything new is constructed. </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">Access to side streets may be closed intermittently during work hours as construction activities progress throughout the area.\u200b </p><p style=\"text-align: left\">The project team has been closely coordinating with the City of Pittsburgh and PPG Paints Arena to ensure that construction will not impact access to the Penguins&rsquo;
