Installation of Drainage Infrastructure to Continue at Sixth Avenue and Wood Street Next Week

Current work area at Sixth Avenue and Wood Street

The PRT contractor completed final water line connections at Sixth and Liberty avenues earlier this week. This work impacted traffic on Liberty Avenue earlier in the week. The work is now finished and Liberty Avenue is open to traffic once again.

Next week, installation of drainage infrastructure will continue at Sixth Avenue and Wood Street within the construction fencing. After the drainage work is finished, the contractor will begin temporary restoration of the work zone.

Currently, two travel lanes on Sixth Avenue adjacent to Wood Street Station are closed. Vehicles traveling on Sixth Avenue are forced to turn left or right onto Wood Street. One travel lane is maintained, so that vehicles traveling on Liberty Avenue can turn right onto Sixth Avenue.

Construction activities for traffic signals will resume in early April.
