Major Service Changes Underway

Impacted Service Routes Include 61D, 71A, 71C or 71D

Pittsburgh Regional Transit enacted a few major service changes on Sunday, October 1, to make room for construction on the University Line and accommodate continued Operator shortages.

Bus routes 61D-Murray, 71A-Negley, 71C-Point Breeze, and 71D-Hamilton now end their inbound trips in Oakland and no longer serve Uptown and downtown.

Riders who previously took the 61D, 71A, 71C, or 71D to Uptown or downtown are able to take the 61A-North Braddock, 61B-Braddock-Swissvale, 61C-McKeesport-Homestead, 67-Monroeville, 69-Trafford, or 71B-Highland Park or transfer to these routes in Oakland. Transfers are free for three hours with a ConnectCard or mobile ticket.

To help support the changes to the 61s and 71s, we added trips on the 82-Lincoln, 87-Friendship, and the P7-McKeesport Flyer, which share portions of their service areas with the shortened routes.
