Milling and paving of the former counterflow lane along Fifth Avenue began this week in preparation for the conversion to the future bi-directional bike lane.
Milling operations began overnight on Monday, with paving of the bike lane and adjacent lane started Tuesday evening. Crews also milled and paved the intersections on the south (left) side of Fifth Avenue at Craft Avenue, Halket Street, McKee Place, Meyran Avenue, Atwood Street, Oakland Avenue, Bouquet Street, and Bigelow Boulevard. Permanent crosswalk and traffic markings will be applied following the paving.
Work is scheduled to occur overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday, November 7. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change. Flaggers will be at each active construction zone.
