PRT’s contractor recently installed a new and expanded sidewalks, new curbs, and

accessible ramps on Sixth Avenue between Fifth Avenue and Diamond Street adjacent

to the Allegheny County Courthouse and on Fifth Avenue at Sixth Avenue adjacent to

Duquesne University’s Libermann Hall.

Intersection improvements include new traffic signals and crosswalks, accessible

pedestrian signals, push button audible signals, and illuminated countdown signs.

While this is not a PRTX station location, the new infrastructure will improve safety and

accessibility for everyone.
