Steel Plaza Shelter Installation to Continue Next Week
March 21, 2025

PRT’s contractor has started building two new PRTX shelters at Steel Plaza Station. The bus station will be located on Sixth Avenue between Grant and Ross streets, adjacent to Mellon Green.
New bus shelters will be closed to the public until all components have been tested. Station amenities will include two 60-foot bus shelters, emergency phone, security cameras, seating, lighting, and real-time arrival signs.
The sidewalk adjacent to Mellon Green will be closed during shelter installation. Pedestrians will be able to use the crosswalks at Grant and Ross Streets. The sidewalk opposite the work zone will remain open.
