Following the announcement of Pittsburgh Regional Transit's $150 million grant agreement with the Federal Transit Administration, the Downtown-Uptown-Oakland BRT line will now be named The University Line. This new line is the first under a new level of service called PRTX.

PRTX is the future of high quality, on-street bus rapid transit. Communities with PRTX service can expect the following: high frequency service thanks to transit-only travel lanes, new shelters with amenities like real-time arrival screens, and improved reliability and on-time performance.

While The University Line will be our first PRTX service, it certainly will not be our last.
