The University Line Weekly Update

On Tuesday, October 10, around 6 a.m., construction activities on for the University Line on Fifth Avenue (from Market to Liberty) will move from the south side of Fifth Avenue back to the north side of Fifth Avenue adjacent to Triangle Park.

The center lane and the lane closest to Triangle Park will both be closed.

The travel lane closest to Market Square will reopen to traffic. Basically, vehicles will travel in the same direction but will be moved to the opposite side of the street.

Bus detours will remain the same.

The contractor continues to perform exploratory excavation and installation of water and drainage infrastructure.

The contractor is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., weather permitting. The contractor may work on Saturdays if needed to keep the project on schedule.

The construction detour remains in place at 5th Avenue and Liberty Avenue. The detour will remain in effect 24/7 until work is finished at this location, which is scheduled to happen by the end of October or early November.

Thank you for your continued support of this project.
