The University Line
Weekly Update

Construction Activities are wrapping up on Fifth Avenue between Market Street and Liberty Avenue (pictured below). The construction fencing was removed earlier today. Temporary pavement has already been placed and the street is reopened to vehicle traffic.

Last week, the contractor completed final connections for the new 12-inch water main.

Construction activities will resume at this work location in late winter/early spring.

Construction for the University Line on Sixth Avenue:

The contractor is continuing to perform exploratory excavation for relocation of water and draining infrastructure.

Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction as shown in the picture below. Bus detours will remain the same. Pedestrian access will be maintained on both sides of the street.

The construction detour will remain in effect 24/7 until work is finished at this location, which is expected to happen by the end of January.

The contractor will continue to work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-5 p.m., weather permitting. The contractor may work on Saturdays if needed to keep the project on schedule.

Thank you for your continued support of this project.
