Utility Relocation Completed, Fifth Avenue Reopened to Traffic

Pittsburgh Regional Transit is required to relocate water and sewer infrastructure at each of the station locations so that we’re not building bus stations on top of it.

The contractors just wrapped up the first round of construction on Fifth Avenue which included relocation of a 12-inch water main and 12-inch sewer between Market Street and Liberty Avenue.

After the final water connections were made, the construction fencing was removed, and the street was reopened to traffic. Construction activities will resume at this location in late winter/early spring.
