Parking Lot Nearing Completion at Fifth Avenue and Kirkpatrick Street

PRT has created a new parking lot for the future residential parking at Fifth Avenue and Kirkpatrick Street.

The lot is being constructed for residents only, as their on-street parking will be permanently removed to accommodate the bus lane. When complete, this parking lot will only be available for use by residents who live in the dedicated parking zone. Residents must acquire a parking permit to park in that zone.

This lot will be completed before on-street parking is removed from the north side of the 2300 block of Fifth Avenue.

Concrete Work to Continue at  Schenley Plaza

PRT’s contractor has started additional concrete work on Forbes Avenue between Schenley Drive and Schenley Drive Extension.

Crews will be working weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, weather dependent. During work hours, the right southbound lane will be blocked for construction equipment with traffic shifting to the center lane. Traffic will be restored to normal traffic patterns at the conclusion of work each day.

Buses will continue to travel and serve stops on Forbes Avenue during the work. While the work zone will be fenced off, the sidewalk behind the work zone, crosswalks, and side streets will remain open. The bike lane will not be accessible during construction.

Work in this area is expected to continue for approximately three weeks.

In a later phase, the contractor will return to install a new 60-foot PRTX Station with transit amenities, a red bus only travel lane, and traffic and pedestrian safety signals.
