Tennyson Station

Fifth Avenue and Tennyson Avenue

Construction at this location began in June 2025 to excavate and relocate water and sewer infrastructure, construct new sidewalks, curbs and ADA-accessible ramps. The work also included installing underground conduit for station power, traffic signals and pedestrian safety systems.  A small amount of plastic fencing will restrict exposed electrical conduit until PRT returns in 2026 to install the station.

To prepare for construction activities at this location, the two concrete traffic islands on Fifth Avenue approaching Bellefield Avenue were permanently removed to allow for the better flow of traffic during and after construction.  The contraflow bus lane and the pedestrian railing along Fifth Avenue will be permanently be removed as a bus lane in January 2026.

This station will have a new 60-foot bus shelter including an ADA compliant loading zone, seating, lighting, next-bus arrival screens, fare vending machine, bike racks, emergency phones, and security cameras.
