Steel bus shelter frame recently placed at Fifth Avenue and William Penn Place

PRT’s contractor recently began installation of a 30-foot bus shelter with an ADA compliant loading zone at William Penn Place PRTX Station.

Station amenities will include seating, lighting, next-bus arrival screens, fare vending machine, an emergency phone, and security cameras.

Last year, the contractor installed new roadway, sidewalk and granite curb. In addition, electrical crews installed a new traffic signal controller box and placed electrical conduit supplying power to the new PRTX station.

Downtown PRTX stations are expected to open by the end of summer 2025.
